Ilie Cazac’s parents will stop, for the moment, the hunger strike

Stela Surchicean and Alexandru Vinițchi , Ilie Cazac’s parents, decided to end hunger strike until September, when the arrest mandate for their sun will expire. They declared that if it will be prolonged, they will come back in front of the Russian Embassy with more people.

The two parents took this decision after Ilie Cazac’s mother met with him and talked for more than an hour and after the agreement from the separatist authorities to allow him to have his own defending lawyer. His mother was accompanied by an OSCE representative who was not allowed to participate at the meeting.

However, the two parents cannot go back home in Bender because they feel in danger: „We were threatened in front of the OSCE representatives that if we go home we might end up in jail. Even if we have two houses in the Transnistrean region, we are now homeless.”
